Connecting a Cash Drawer to a Billfold POS Device

This guide walks you through how to physically and digitally connect a cash drawer to your Billfold device for cash transactions.

1. Hardware Setup: Connecting the Cash Drawer

To physically connect the cash drawer:

  • Use the USB-B to USB-A cable that came with the cash drawer.

  • Plug the USB-B end into the back of the cash drawer.

  • Plug the USB-A end into the USB hub or splitter connected to the Billfold device.

2. Software Setup: Enabling the Drawer in the Bartender App

Once the hardware is connected:

  1. Open the Bartender App on your POS device.

  2. Tap the gear icon in the bottom-left corner to open Settings.

  3. Select Cash Drawer from the settings menu.

  4. Toggle on Autoconnect Cash Drawer.

  5. Tap Test Open Current Drawer to confirm the connection.

3. Usage

After setup is complete, the cash drawer will automatically open when a cash transaction is processed through the POS.
