Creating a Modifier Group
On the left side of the Billfold Dashboard, click Catalog and select Modifier Groups.
Note: If you do not see the Catalog or Modifier Groups within the dashboard menu option, please contact your Billfold account manager to for more information and to ensure that this permission is enabled for your account.On the right, click New Modifier Group.
Fill out the top part of the page. Give the Modifier Group an appropriate name.
If the modifiers are intended to be mandatory, add a minimum possible selection of at least 1. This ensures that at least 1 (or the desired amount of modifiers) is selected before the base item can be added to the guest cart within the POS application
If the modifiers are intended to be optional, set the minimum possible selection to 0
Click Add Modifier for every selection you wish to have. If applicable, add a price as well as tax the selections.
Note: Modifier prices are additive to the base item sale only. At this time modifiers are not subtractive from the base item priceClick Create Modifier Group to save.
It’s easy to update Modifier Groups! Go to your modifier groups, click Edit to the right of the group you wish to change, make your changes, and click Update.
NOTE: Updates made to a modifier group will affect every item the modifier group has been assigned to.
How to Add a Modifier Group to a Menu Item
After creating a Modifier Group, navigate to menu item that you wish to apply the modifier group to and select Edit to the right of the menu item
Finding menu items: Within the correct Event > select the appropriate revenue center > click on the Items tab > use the filters to find or scroll to the item you wish to add modifiers to
Scroll down to Modifier Groups within the item edit screen
Click into the text box. A list of available Modifier Groups will appear. Select the one you wish to add
Scroll down and click Update. You’ve now added Modifiers to that item.
Repeat these steps for each of the menu items that the modifier group should apply to
