Follow these steps to update Billfold applications on your devices to ensure access to the latest features and stability improvements. Updates can be performed manually via the on-device Application Manager or remotely via the Fleet Control Center (FCC).
Important Requirements
Note: Version Pairing If you are using dual-screen devices, you must update both the Bartender (BRT) and Customer (CSTM) apps to compatible versions.
Example: BRT 3.11.17 must be paired with CSTM 3.11.7.
Hardware Re-pairing: Updating an app will reset local hardware connections. After a new version is installed and licensed, you must re-pair your printers, card readers, cash drawers, and screens within the app settings.
1. Remote Updates (FCC)
Billfold can remotely push application updates to your fleet via the Fleet Control Center (FCC).
How it works: Pushed applications will automatically populate on your device home screen without disrupting ongoing operations.
Action Required: Once the push is complete, you must open the new BRT application and License the device to begin use. Use this article for a refresher on how to license devices.
2. Manual Updates (Application Manager)
The Application Manager (green icon on the home screen) allows you to manually download, hide, or delete software.
Open the Application Manager.
Tap Billfold Store at the top of the screen.
Use the Menu (three horizontal lines, top left) to filter by application type (e.g., Bartender, Customer, etc.).
Locate the desired version and tap the Download icon on the right side.
Once the download notification appears, the app will be available on your home screen.
3. Managing App Visibility
To keep your home screen organized, use the Application Manager to hide older versions while keeping them as backups.
Inside the Application Manager, tap the Device tab.
Locate the application version you wish to modify.
Toggle the application to Hidden or Visible via the Eye Icon.
Recommendation: Maintain the previous version as a hidden backup in case a rollback is required.
4. Deleting Applications
To keep your application manager decluttered, delete any old application versions that are no longer needed or in use.
Inside the Application Manager, tap the Device tab.
Locate the application version you wish to modify.
Tap the Trash Icon, confirm the deletion by pressing Yes.
5. Pre-Update Checklist
Before performing any manual downloads:
Consult Support: Contact your Account Manager or Billfold Support to confirm the version you intend to download is stable for your specific operation.
How to Check Versions: Check the DCA Version, Keyboard Version, and current BRT version on the Application Manager home screen.
