Dashboard: Service Charges

Configure and manage percentage-based or fixed-amount service charges for revenue centers. Learn how to set default charges, assign tax rates, and modify existing fees.

Operational Behavior

  • Subtotal Requirement: Service charges only apply to orders and tabs with a subtotal greater than $0.00.

  • Item Quantity: Charges are applied as a flat rule per order or tab, regardless of item quantities or total subtotal size.

1. Creating a New Service Charge

  1. Navigate to the Service Charges tab within your event.

  2. Click the New Service Charge button.

  3. Configure the following fields in the configuration window:

    • Title: Enter a clear name for the charge.

    • Type: Select either Fixed amount (adds a flat currency value to the order) or Percentage of subtotal (calculates a fee based on the order total).

    • Value: Enter the numerical value. The system interprets this as a dollar amount or a percentage based on your selection in the Type field.

    • Tax rate: Enter any valid tax percentage, or set it to 0 if the service charge is non-taxable.

    • Revenue Centers: Use this box to select any existing Revenue Centers that this fee applies to.

    • Default Checkbox: Check this box to automatically apply this service charge to all newly created revenue centers.

      • Note: Existing revenue centers will not be retroactively updated.

  4. Click Create Service Charge to save, or click Cancel to exit without saving.

2. Managing and Sorting Existing Charges

The main management tab displays a list of all active configurations.

Filtering Records

You can filter the list using the following parameters:

  • Name: Search for a specific service charge by name.

  • Default: Filter by binary status (Yes vs. No).

Sorting and Columns

The grid provides the following data points for each record:

  • Ordinal

  • Name

  • Default

  • Created

  • Updated

Pro-Tip: To sort your records, click directly on any column name displayed in blue text.

3. Modifying or Deleting Service Charges

Editing a Charge

  1. Locate the target record in the list and click Edit.

  2. Adjust the fields in the configuration form as needed.

  3. Click Update Service Charge to save your changes, or click Cancel to discard them.

Deleting a Charge

  1. Locate the target record in the list.

  2. Click Delete to permanently remove the service charge from the dashboard configuration.
