Revenue Center Locations allow venue managers to assign distinct menus to different physical selling points (Locations) inside a single Revenue Center. All operational rules—such as accepted payment methods, tip presets, discount rules, service charges, and authorization settings—remain centralized at the Revenue Center level.
Prerequisites
Software Requirement: Bartender App version 3.11.16 or higher.
Menu Setup: Applies to all events utilizing centralized menu management.
1. Understanding Locations
Operational Inheritance
A Location represents a specific point of sale or station (e.g., Bar Register 1, VIP Station) within a Revenue Center. Each Location holds exactly one assigned menu, while automatically inheriting all administrative settings from its parent Revenue Center. This allows you to run different menus across different registers without having to configure separate payment processing or tip settings for each station.
Default Locations (Backward Compatibility)
To ensure seamless operations and full backward compatibility:
Automatic Creation: The system automatically creates one Default Location whenever a new Revenue Center is established, as well as for all existing events using centralized menus.
Fixed Rules: Every Revenue Center has exactly one Default Location. You cannot delete it, nor can you remove its default status.
Customization: You can rename the Default Location and update its assigned menu at any time.
Additional Locations
You can build additional Locations within a single Revenue Center to support complex venue setups:
Additional Locations represent separate physical stations or registers.
Each additional Location requires one assigned menu.
Different Locations can run entirely different menus or share the same menu across multiple stations.
2. Dashboard Navigation & Menu Management
Because a Revenue Center can host multiple menus via Locations, menu configuration tabs (such as Structure, Categories, Items, Favorite Items, and Drink Ticket Items) are accessed directly through the Locations list.
How to View or Edit a Menu:
Navigate to Events > Revenue Centers and select your target Revenue Center.
Click the Locations tab.
In the Locations list, click the linked menu name under the Menu column.
This opens the Menu Details view, where you can modify categories, items, favorites, and menu structure.
Simplified View for Single-Location Setups: If a Revenue Center contains only the Default Location, a direct menu link remains visible on the main Revenue Center details page for quick access.
3. Bartender App Behavior
Bartender Version 3.11.16+
When logging into the terminal app, staff follow a two-step station selection:
Select the Revenue Center.
Select the specific Location within that Revenue Center (the Default Location is pre-selected).
The POS automatically loads the specific menu assigned to that selected Location.
Legacy Bartender Versions (< 3.11.16)
Older app versions do not support manual Location selection. Terminals running legacy versions automatically default to using the Default Location and its assigned menu.
4. Key Rules Summary
One Menu per Location: Each Location can have exactly one menu assigned.
One Default Location: A Revenue Center always maintains one non-deletable Default Location.
Centralized Settings: All operational rules (discounts, tips, payment methods, tabs) apply uniformly across all Locations within the Revenue Center.
